Full Title: Lenders (who are not Registry subscribers) Requesting ALTA ID 'verification'
Short Description: On occasion a lender (who is not a Registry subscriber) will contact ALTA asking for a "verification" of a title agent who may or may not be listed in the ALTA Registry. This template is to be used for responding to such requests.

Hello [Insert Name],
The ALTA Registry (www.altaidregistry.org) is a tool provided by ALTA to the industry for the purpose of identifying underwriter confirmed title agents using their ALTA ID.
Unfortunately the ALTA Registry team is not staffed to respond to individual requests of this nature.
If you are not able to locate an underwriter confirmed title agent via www.altaidregistry.org, you may direct the agent to request their listing. I’ve provided you with some sample verbiage below that may assist you in directing the agent.
Many agents believe that their ALTA ID is included in the Registry if they have an ALTA policy forms license and/or ALTA membership, however a listing in the ALTA Registry requires the title agent to submit a request to be confirmed by their underwriter(s) and published to the ALTA Registry using the ALTA Registry Management System.
It appears that your organization may be using the public search feature available on the ALTA Registry. If you are interested in a subscription that provides additional features, information, and support let us know so that we may schedule a further discussion.
Sample verbiage to advise agents to request their listing in the ALTA Registry
We have noticed that ‘COMPANY NAME’ - ALTA ID XXXXXXX is not currently listed in the ALTA Registry (www.altaidregistry.org).
If you are not familiar with the ALTA Registry, it is an industry “phone book” of underwriter confirmed title agents (used by lenders and transaction participants to find title agents and confirm they are working with an agent that has active underwriter relationships). A listing in the ALTA Registry is free and does NOT require membership with ALTA.
It is important to note that to be listed in the Registry, you must request confirmation from your underwriter(s). A Registry listing is NOT “automatic” with ALTA membership and/or policy forms licensing.
To get started, below are steps for accessing the ALTA Registry Management System to send a listing request to your underwriter(s). NOTE: Only an ALTA primary or secondary contact may request a Registry listing.
