Follow the eight steps below to locate and delete an unwanted Sophos VPN profile directly from the Windows file system. After deletion, restart the Sophos VPN app to refresh the profile list.

Before you begin: Make sure the Sophos SSL VPN Client is installed on your machine and that you know which profile you want to remove. Per ALTA policy, only the alta.local profile should remain — all others should be deleted.

⚠️ Keep alta.local only. Do not delete the alta.local profile. Only remove profiles that are not alta.local. Deleting the wrong profile may disconnect you from the ALTA network.

After deleting: Close the Sophos VPN application completely and reopen it. This forces the app to reload and will display only your remaining profile(s) — confirming the unwanted profile has been successfully removed.
