First Things First. When you need to update an address, always visit Account Tab > Organization Info and look for the “In Registry?” Data point highlighted in the red bar. If the check box is checked, this means the record is already listed in the Registry and any address updates should be referred to altaregistry@alta.org:

Address Structure. The Address structure in re:Members (formerly Impexium) includes the address itself plus designations for the type of address (e.g., work, home) and how the address should be used (e.g., shipping, billing). The same address may have multiple uses. See Account > Contact Info > Addresses.
Address Edits (NO “New”) Addresses. Once an Employer’s Address is linked to an Individual, any Address Edits will flow to the Individual, but a brand new ORG Address will not flow down.
-
Address Updates for Organizations with a current Registry Listing should ALWAYS happen in the RMS (email changes to altaregistry@alta.org)
-
Other Organization Address updates MUST be made by choosing the gray Edit button next to the Address on the Overview Tab.
Background: re:Members (formerly Impexium) treats Addresses differently than the prior AMS GoMembers did. If you were to Add a New Address instead of Editing, all of the Employees will still have the Old Address and you would have to manually relink each IND to their Parent ORG. This is WEIRD but IMPORTANT so please use the easy Edit button on the Overview Tab.
Individual Addresses. An Individual may have multiple addresses.
-
Each address may be designated with an address Type of Work, Home, or Other.
-
At least one address must be selected for the function of Shipping, Billing, or Directory.
-
One of the addresses must be designed “Primary.”
-
See Account > Contact Info > Addresses and Edit the Address.
Individual Linked Address. The vast majority of Individuals will have their Employer’s Work Address linked as their own Work Address and that Address will be marked Primary for use as Shipping, Billing, and Directory.
Organization Addresses. An Organization may have multiple addresses.
-
Each address may be designated with an address Type of Work, Home, or Other (although Home will probably never be selected for an Organization).
-
Each address may also be selected for the function of Shipping, Billing, or Directory. There should be only one address marked for each type.
-
One of the addresses must be designed “Primary.” See Account > Contact Info > Addresses and Edit the Address.
Bad Addresses. Addresses which were marked as “Mail Hold” in GoMembers are now marked as “Bad Address” in re:Members (formerly Impexium). See Account > Contact Info > Addresses and Edit the Address to view/edit the “Bad Address” check box.
Registry Listing Address Changes. These should be routed to Registry Staff – Look for the Red Bar on the Overview Tab! This is important so that we can protect the DPV (Delivery Point Variable) created by Melissa Data and included in the ALTA Registry. This value is established by the Registry Management System processes and is not created in re:Members (formerly Impexium )because their implementation of Melissa Data is different and there is no opportunity to customize selections. For example, Address Lines 1 and 2 are combined and they do not include the Delivery Point Variable (DPV).
