Description:
ALTA Member companies and all of their employees have full access to all Best Practices materials. Policy Forms Licensees do not have access to all materials. Some material is available to all web site visitors, whether or not they are members, and whether or not they are logged in.
As a means to provide full access for non-Members, there are currently three different subscription packages that are available:
-
Best Practices Full Access
-
Best Practices Compliance Management Report
-
Best Practices Assessment Readiness Guide
The second and third options are subsets of the Full Access package.
Documents can be accessed at: https://www.alta.org/best-practices/
Purchase:
ALTA Members should not have the option to purchase Best Practices, as they already have full access to all Best Practices documents.
- re:Members (formerly Impexium) Setup: Thus, for each of the Best Practices subscriptions, in re:Members (formerly Impexium) there is no price associated with attribute of either “Is Individual Member” or “Is Organizational Member”, but only to the non-member versions of these attributes. Thus, only for non-members will the subscriptions be available options, as discussed below.
Non-Members: Organization or Individual Subscriptions. For Non-Members, they may purchase a Best Practices subscription associated with either their individual record, or if they are the primary/secondary contact, they may purchase it for their organization. There is currently no price difference between the organizational or individual purchase, but in practical terms, this purchase is only for non-members, and will typically only be used by very few individuals in the organization who are attempting certification. Note the following:
-
An individual subscription is able to be purchased on a self-serve basis, even if that individual is not the primary or secondary contact of the organization.
-
An individual purchase that is not at the organizational level will results in the subscription staying with the individual, even if they change organizations. Thus, we may get a call saying that the organization “purchased” Best Practices documents, but that they don’t have access, because the person left the organization. Thus, we may need to provide a zero cost subscription in that instances, and track the termination timeline.
-
Only the primary or secondary contact can purchase the subscription at the organizational level. This organizational purchase will then enable any individual with an "Employee" relationship to the organization to have access to the materials associated with the subscription. This works for any employer, not just the parent (primary employer).
Purchase Process:
Non-Member users may self serve the purchase of the subscriptions from the Best Practices page.

Pricing Setup in re:Members (formerly Impexium):
Subscriptions - > Subscriptions - > Best Practices Full Access – VIEW - > Prices Tab - > Prices - > Edit - > Details Tab (Can choose to alter price, or expire the Available Until date) or Setup Tab (Choose which attributes to apply)
Attributes: in this case both “Is individual non-member” and “is organizational non-member” are chosen, which functions as an “OR” condition between the two (i.e., if either condition applies, the subscription option is available to the user).
Also note that where there are multiple “Active Prices” options available, the option with the least expensive price that applies to the user is the one chosen; so if there is a pricing option without any attributes assigned (Has Attributes=No) that has a $0 price, it will result in a $0 price no matter what other pricing options exist.
Access Definition for Documents
Best Practices access roles are defined within the Intranet, under Resources - > Best Practices Documents. The Member/Full, Management, and Assessment define which subscription packages apply to the document. Member access and Best Practices Full Access Subscription are defined to be the same access levels.
