Meeting Categories & Subcategories Guide
Purpose: The purpose of this document is to serve as an internal reference guide for creating events in re:Members. It also defines each parent category, its associated subcategories, and the types of events or meetings that belong within each category to promote consistency and standardization across event creation.
Important: Every event created in re:Members must be assigned both a Parent Category and a Subcategory. If an event does not align with one of the defined parent categories or subcategories in this guide, assign the event to the Other parent category and/or Other subcategory, as appropriate.
Parent Category: Flagship Events
Definition:
Flagship events are ALTA’s largest, most visible, and highest-profile events. These meetings bring together the broadest audience of members, industry leaders, and stakeholders to support networking, professional development, industry collaboration, and the advancement of ALTA’s mission. They also serve as key venues for conducting official Association business and delivering strategic initiatives.

Parent Category: Innovation Events
Definition:
Innovation events are learning-focused events that may be held virtually or in person. These events may be led by an instructor, subject matter expert, or peers and are designed to provide education and professional development opportunities. Innovation Meetings are typically mid-sized, focus on specific topics, and are intended for target groups of members.

- Commercial Network
- Consumer Marketing (e.g., Marketing Workshops)
Parent Category: Engagement Events
Definition:
Engagement events are collaborative events where members focus on working together through Association leadership and engagement groups to advance industry and ALTA. There are smaller, recuring, peer learning, or collaborative groups. These sessions emphasize knowledge exchange, relationship building, and shared problem solving.

Parent Category: Leadership Meetings
Definition:
Leadership Meetings are governance and leadership meetings for the Board of Governors, committees, councils, work groups, and task forces. These groups provide oversight, strategic direction, administrative guidance, and subject matter expertise to support the ALTA’s programs, initiatives, products, content, and industry standards. Leadership Meetings may be held virtually or in person, either as standalone meetings or in conjunction with other Association events.

Parent Category: Special Events
Definition:
Affiliated Organization Events are networking and fundraising events that support ALTA-affiliated organizations, including the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation (AGDF) and the Title Industry Political Action Committee (TIPAC). These events are held periodically throughout the year and are often scheduled in conjunction with Flagship Events.

Parent Category: Webinars
Definition:
Webinar Events are monthly, presentation-style events that focus on a single topic. These events provide educational content for members and non-members, are recorded, and made available as an ongoing member benefit.
Subcategories:
Webinar Events do not have subcategories. Each webinar is created directly under the Webinar parent category.
