Purchaser Access Management Process for the TIRS State Compliance Guides, the Title & Escrow Claims Guide, and the Title Insurance Law Journal

Purpose: The purpose of this document is to explain the purchaser access management process, including how it works and how access is granted.

Purchasing Process Overview: Members and nonmembers may purchase eligible publications through their ALTA account. Depending on the publication, purchases are available as Single User, Multi-User, or Enterprise licenses. Individuals who do not already have an ALTA account must create one before completing a purchase. Publication purchases are associated with either the purchaser's individual ALTA account or an organization's ALTA account, depending on the license type. For Enterprise licenses, user access is managed through the organization's UBER account.

TIRS State Compliance Guide

Licensing

• The TIRS State Compliance Guides are available online only through an Enterprise license. Single User and Multi-User licenses are not available.

• An Enterprise license may be purchased on either an individual or organization record.

• Enterprise licenses are available as:

• Single-State Subscription

• Multi-State Subscription (Volumes)

• All-State Subscription (Complete Sets)

Access

• Enterprise license access is granted after the overnight refresh.

• Access is managed through the organization's UBER account and is granted to eligible individuals and branch locations associated with that account.

Subscription Management

• Enterprise subscriptions remain active for 12 months from the purchase date.

• If a subscription is renewed before it expires, the subscription dates are updated automatically, and no manual adjustments are required.

• If a subscription is renewed after it has lapsed, the expired subscription must be manually terminated before the renewal is processed. This ensures the subscription dates are updated correctly so the subscriber receives a full 12-month subscription period from the renewal date and does not lose access time due to the lapse.

Title & Escrow Claims Guide

Licensing

• The Title & Escrow Claims Guide is available for purchase as either a physical publication with a digital edition or as a digital-only publication.

• The Title & Escrow Claims Guides are available through Enterprise, Multi-User, and Single User licenses.

• Single User licenses may be purchased online through the ALTA website and may only be purchased by the individual who will receive the guide.

• Enterprise and multi-user licenses must be purchased through the Publications Department to ensure the appropriate pricing is applied.

Product Assignment

• Single User licenses are assigned to the purchaser's profile immediately after purchase.

• Enterprise license assignments are completed after the overnight refresh.

• The Title & Escrow Claims Guide is assigned to the purchaser's profile as a product, not a subscription. As a result, it cannot be renewed. A new edition must be purchased each year.

• Each annual edition of the Title & Escrow Claims Guide is a separate product. Users may purchase the current edition or a previous edition, depending on their needs. Purchasing one edition does not include future editions.

The Title Insurance Law Journal

Licensing

• The Title Insurance Law Journal is available through Enterprise, Multi-User, and Single User licenses.

• Single User licenses may be purchased online through the ALTA website and may only be purchased by the individual who will access the journal.

• Enterprise and Multi-User licenses must be purchased through the Publications Department using the organization's ALTA account to ensure the appropriate pricing is applied.

Access

• Single User license access is granted immediately after purchase.

• Enterprise license access is granted after the overnight refresh.

• Multi-User licenses become available in the Intranet after the overnight refresh. Once users are assigned to the license, access is granted immediately

Subscription Management

• Subscriptions remain active for 12 months from the purchase date.

• Subscription access ends automatically upon expiration.

• If a subscription is renewed before it expires, the subscription dates are updated automatically, and no manual adjustments are required.

• If a subscription is renewed after it has lapsed, the expired subscription must be manually terminated before the renewal is processed. This ensures the subscription dates remain accurate, so the subscriber receives a full 12-month subscription period from the renewal date rather than losing access time due to the lapse.
