ALTA provides extensive legislative, legal, and regulatory guidance for the land title and settlement services industry. ALTA staff and consultants track many issues of importance on both the federal and state level.
Included in this set of services are TAN and TIPAC.
TAN is the Title Action Network, a grassroots organization of interested industry employees (including ALTA employees) who agree to be contacted to take action on behalf of their industry when legislation or regulation can affect the industry. TAN "members" are subscribers in ALTA's database re:Members (formerly Impexium) and their 365-day memberships renew when they open an TAN action item or make a purchase on the ALTA website. TAN members may be solicited directly for TIPAC contributions. Learn more at: https://www.alta.org/tan/.
TIPAC is ALTA's Political Action Committee (PAC), formally the Title Industry Political Action Committee. Individuals make contributions to TIPAC and my contribute up to $5,000 annually. Contributions may be made all at once or in installments. Contributions are pooled and directed to campaigns for election or re-election of members of congress to support candidates who understand and support the industry.
